Big Ranch Farms
Renteria Winery with Honig Winery
Presented at Connolly Ranch
July 14th, 2012 - 5:00pm
Napa, California

Picture
Big Ranch Farms, owned and operated by Napa local Mark Haberger and wife Teresa (some know Mark as “the tomato guy’”), has been in business since 1994.  While the main focus originally was to grow the best and ever increasingly popular heirloom tomatoes, now, in addition, the farm produces a full range of seasonal summer vegetables.Simply stated, our goal is to offer our customers a wide range of nutritious, delicious seasonal vegetables that are grown locally, by us, so you can enjoy “farm to table” dining in your own home!
We can be found all summer long at the local farmers markets (Napa, St. Helena and Calistoga).  More recently, in order to offer our Napa neighbors another alternative to shop for their produce, we have established Big Ranch Farmstand, located right on our property at 2046 Big Ranch Road, Napa.  We hope Big Ranch Farmstand becomes one of your routine grocery shopping spots!
You will also see our tomatoes (and sometimes other veggies) on menus at some of the best restaurants in the Napa Valley.

Full Table Farm
Goosecross Cellars with Ramian Estate
Presented at Connolly Ranch
July 28th, 2012 - 5:00pm
Napa, California

Picture
Full Table Farm is a small husband and wife farm just south of the Town of Yountville. Now in its second year, Full Table Farm was born out of an appreciation and love for high quality food produced in a responsible manner.
Aside from a tremendous amount of physical effort, Mindy and Juston try to add little else in growing their crops. They use a variety of approaches to do this, such as, micro-irrigation, dry-farming, composting and companion planting. The result is the ability to grow produce with little reliance on outside resources and produce with wonderful pure flavors that have been grown in a fashion that is healthy for both the land and the flora and fauna that abounds there.
Full Table Farm's hope for the future is that they can continue to learn, share and help inspire the larger local food system that they are a part of, and to offer the best food it can through methods that are responsible, both environmentally and financially. They are thankful for the many people that inspire them by doing this today and strive for this in the future, which is why they are excited to be part of the this Beyond the Kitchen event.

Clerici Ranch
Signorello Estate Wines

August 4th, 2012 - 5:00pm
Napa, California

Picture
The year was 1904. The Somazi family purchased a piece of land near town where they could grow their own food, raising fruits, vegetables, chickens and pigs. Time marched forward and the way families lived changed. The property was planted in walnut trees and eventually visited only on weekends and at harvest time. Soon walnuts became unprofitable to farm except for the largest of properties and the land was converted to vineyards with the exception of maybe a dozen or so remaining walnut trees.
Fast forward to David and Barbara Clerici. Like his great grandparents, David & his wife wanted to live on the ranch and enjoy a more natural lifestyle. He began the long process of renewing the worn out soil. Fruit trees and berries were planted and garden areas were established. Chicken coops soon went up and the result was that the soil was starting to come alive once more.
The Clerici family is still only beginning the long journey toward producing healthy, affordable food for our neighbors in the Napa Valley. Eggs and pastured chicken meat are once again available, along with fresh berries and an assortment of authentic Italian vegetable varieties. Thank you for supporting these efforts, we look forward to your visit!

A Preservation Sanctuary Learning Center is not a farm; rather, it is a sanctuary to keep our genetic agriculture heritage from being harmed, and to pass on old time agricultural know how to others.  This Preservation Sanctuary Learning Center is the home of rare standard bred livestock, ie. Buckeye chickens.  Hampshire, and Red Wattle hogs are coming soon.  The Sanctuary also has many rare heirloom vegetables, produce, and herbs. All livestock, veggies, herbs, and fruits are sustainable raised all natural. The livestock is raised on pasture.  If animals are raised with love and respect, processed with love and respect, cooked with love and respect, and served with love and respect, then we eat love and respect, and we are healed.  Preservation Sanctuary Learning Center is operated as a nonprofit.
